Everyday Makeup

Hello, viewer! Sorry I've been away. I'm back now, stop complaining.

Now normally, I would never say that I have an "everyday" look, because my makeup is different every day. But I should probably post something that is wearable and easy to do, so here ya go!

I know these are not the best pictures, I'm working on that.

I look pale

Look More Awake

There is a bug going around. I happened to catch it along with everyone else I know.
I woke up this morning feeling and looking absolutely awful, but thanks to a few tricks, I was able to hide it a bit without spending more than 10 minutes getting ready!

Look alive, pretend you're not sick!
I did not want to overdo the concealer under my eyes because I think you should be seeing the person, not the makeup, not the cold.

10 tips on looking more awake:
  1. Make sure all of your makeup is completely removed at night.
  2. Wear less foundation so your skin looks more like skin. Focus on moisturizing well.
  3. Concentrate concealer on spots that need it most... pimples, under-eye circles.
  4. Do not apply makeup around your nose if you will be using lots of tissue. A little Vaseline at night will help with the redness and dryness and you won't feel like you need to apply so much makeup.
  5. Apply a light eyeliner pencil to your waterline (white or flesh-toned) to open up the eyes.
  6. Add a light colour to your inner corners for more light and drag it slightly up to orbital bone to eliminate darkness there.
  7. Do not wear a lot, if any, darker makeup on the bottom of the eye. It will draw attention to dark circles.
  8. Concentrate definition on the upper lashes to lift tired eyes. A winged eyeliner (angled upwards, never down) will help with this.
  9. Apply a blush with a little bit of shimmer to it so your cheeks glow rather than look dull. Or, use a highlight along with your blush.
  10. Avoid heavy contouring of any kind... face, eyes, anything.

-MAC Eyeshadow in Charcoal Brown (eyebrows)

Eyes:

-NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk (lower waterline, inner corners)

Makeup on Sammy

Sam does not like to wear makeup.
But I convinced her to let me attack her face for her grad photo about a month ago. YAY! I love my sister.
I wanted to keep it simple because she likes her gorgeous natural look, and I like how it turned out. I would have made it even lighter if it weren't for my uncontrollable urge to make her over. Plus I had flash photography to consider.

Isn't she cute, trying not to laugh at me!

What a cutie

Urban Decay Naked Palette

It was boxing day.
There was no sale.
I was probably the last human being on Earth who did not possess this divine creation.

But NO LONGER!
Is it not beautiful?
Yes. The Naked palette from Urban Decay.
This thing came out a loooong time ago, I know, but being forbidden to purchase any makeup, I could not get it until now. Sorry, mom.
Of course, now would be the time or Urban Decay to come out with the Naked 2 palette.
On the back of the box
I must admit that I do have many neutral shades in my collection. I got the Alice in Wonderland palette from Urban Decay when it came out, and Sin came with it, so I now have 2 of those.
Generally, though, I am very happy with the colour palette because there really is something for everyone. Should come in handy when doing other peoples' makeup!

12 beautiful shades
 And  now for some closeups...

Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar

Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse

Toasted, Hustle, Creep, Gunmetal
 I shall swatch soon.
Here is what Urban Decay has to say about the palette:

Everybody wants to look good NAKED! Far from a group of boring beige shadows, Naked Palette's long, lean, seductive case is packed with TWELVE gorgeous neutrals, including FIVE NEW shades, and includes our pro-quality Good Karma Shadow Brush.

I know Virgin, Darkhorse, Buck and Naked are exclusive to the palette but I'm not sure about the other one. I got the one with the synthetic brush, not the duo Whiskey-Zero eyeliner. It also came with a mini-UDPP, which I LOVE! The mirror also makes it very convenient for travel.

Shadow Brush

Nice, soft bristles

Oooh, intimidating!

My only problem with this palette is the packaging... It is velvety and beautiful, but I can see it getting filthy quickly. At least it isn't terribly heavy like their Book of Shadows palettes.

Overall, I like it! I happily welcome this product to my kit. I can see it coming in handy in some great emergency. The shades are well pigmented, which is not unusual for Urban Decay, and I really like the wide range of neutrals in the palette.

This is available in Sephora locations and online for 48$. Being in Canada, I payed 58$ for it. :( I will cherish it!
